The Residents of a North Yorkshire’s locals have been stunned by these mysterious tree carvings have been created by an anonymous guerrilla artist. These astounding carvings have turned regular trees into a masterpiece by a kingfisher, dragon and a ghostly figure.
The sculptures stand between 10 and 20 feet high and no one has ever seen when the elusive banksy style artist arrives or leaves as the stunning carvings seemed to appear from nowhere around two months ago. The higher authorities in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, said they wanted to thank the artist who has the amusing talent for creating a new attraction for the tourist area and they want the artist to come forward so they can thank them. Ji lee is a designer and contributor to the New York Times whose work has been featured on ABC World News and in Newsweek, Wired, the Guardian, the Huffington Post, and Boing Boing, among others. A former creative director at Google, he is now a creative director at Facebook.
Lee create images out of a word using only the graphic elements of the letters contained in the word itself. This project got more positive responses from all over the world. He published a book “Word as Image” which has the 100 creative collection of head-scratching word images. Moreover the book is about discovering the magic behind the unique shapes and infinite possibilities of letters and words.
